Dr. Stephanie James

Dr. Stephanie James was born and raised in New York City. She attended the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine, completed a small animal internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital, and a Residency at the Bronx Zoo. For the first 15 years of her career, she was a zoo vet, with most of her time spent as an Associate Veterinarian at the Bronx Zoo.

In 2011 she made the decision to switch to small animal medicine and has worked at Sand Road Animal Hospital and Alternative Veterinary Therapies in Albany, NY.

Dr. James is certified in acupuncture and veterinary medical manipulation, along with hospice and palliative care. Her interests include geriatric, palliative, and hospice care. She lives in Massachusetts with her partner, a dog, a cat, and a few chickens.
