Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Katie Vagliano joined Sand Road Animal Hospital in the spring of 2006, working
as a relief doctor while coming to her husband’s childhood home in Norfolk
on the weekends. Being so impressed by the state-of-the-art facility and the
kind, talented people at Sand Road, she was thrilled to join the practice full-time
in June and subsequently moved with her family to Norfolk.
Dr. Katie is a 2003 graduate of Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine,
where she was inducted into the Phi Zeta National Veterinary Honor Society. She
was also awarded the Hill’s “Buddy Award” for outstanding achievement
in the area of small animal practice. Prior to veterinary school, she completed
her undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont, graduating Summa cum
Laude with Honors in 1996, with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. She
continued post-graduate studies and research at UVM until moving to Massachusetts
to pursue her veterinary degree.
Before moving to Connecticut, Dr. Katie lived in the suburbs of Boston for nearly
10 years, practicing in small animal hospitals in Marblehead and Holliston. She
enjoys all aspects of small animal medical and surgical care, and is particularly
committed to small animal preventative care as a means of maintaining the health
and happiness of the whole family!
Dr. Katie lives in Norfolk with her husband, Justin, and their two sons, Andrew
and Alec. They share their lives with two big dogs (a Great Dane and a Bernese
Mountain Dog) and one cat (smaller in size but just as big in personality). Keeping
up with all her boys keeps the days filled with adventures, and you will often
find her enjoying the beautiful setting of Norfolk with her family, whether walking
the fields of their farm or playing at Tobey Pond.
