Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Jennifer Jones-Kline
I grew up amidst the chocolate in Hershey, PA. Surrounded by many
beloved cats, dogs, and horses throughout my childhood, I knew at
a young age that I wanted to become a veterinarian. I was an avid
pony clubber and spent much of my free time during high school and
college working with a veterinarian at a local thoroughbred racetrack
and in small animal hospitals.
I continued to work at veterinary hospitals in addition to milking
dairy cows and skiing while attending the University of Vermont. I
graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Animal Science in 1994
and moved to Colorado to apply to veterinary school at Colorado State
University. After graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1999, I moved to the
Hudson Valley to join Rhinebeck Equine as an equine practitioner.
In 2002 I pursued further education at the Chi Institute of Chinese
Medicine and Options for Animals to become certified in Animal Acupuncture
and Chiropractic, respectively.
Having another tool to treat animals and alleviate their pain has
been immensely rewarding. While I truly love horses and equine medicine
and surgery, I found that I missed working with our smaller dog and
cat companions. So in 2004 I began offering small animal house calls
in addition to my horse work. Two years later I was thrilled to become
part of the Sand Road Animal Hospital healthcare team.
I currently live in Ancram, NY with my husband Tyler, who is a farrier.
We have a sweet young daughter Leila, as well as, two cats Maggie
and Chilly and two Labs, Pali and Jackson, to round out the family.
After seven years of veterinary
practice, I continue to feel blessed and privileged to do what I
do. No two days are alike and there is
nothing more rewarding than improving the quality of life for an
animal. While I am relatively new member of the Sand Road Team,
it already
feels like home here. I am thrilled to be a part of such a caring
group of talented professionals and I look forward to meeting all
the wonderful clients and pets that make Sand Road Animal Hospital
so special.
